PSG Edges Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Claim French Super Cup in Kuwait.
PSG has now secured the season-opening cup on 14 separate occasions.
Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic equaliser followed by a perfect penalty shootout to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight Trophee des Champions victory.
The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the match featuring the Ligue 1 champions and the Coupe de France winners after the French winger found the scoring early on.
Yet, the southern French side struck two times in the closing moments to take a surprise advantage. First, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own-goal.
In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the final moments to send the match into a penalty shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the hero, stopping decisive kicks from O'Riley and Hamed Traore.
From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all converted successfully for PSG to complete a convincing shootout win.
The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this competition for the 12th time in the past 13 years.
