The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
